How can I find an antique store that sells higher end furniture? |
|
I live about 30 min. north of Atlanta, and I want to sell my grandmother's dining room set. All the antique stores I have found around here only have country or old farm style furniture, and I know they wouldn't get the traffic to be able to sell this one.
I searched on-line the other day for hours hoping to find either a shop or an appraiser who would be able to suggest one, but even the "National Appraisers Institte" didn't have a listing of any members in the Ga!
Do any of you have any ideas????

that I'm pretty sure has an Atlanta issue........their advertisers appear to be pretty upscale. My husband has been working in Charlotte and picking up the paper for me. good luck :hi:

www.skirtmag.com for the magazine I've been paging through my most recent issue and of course seeing very little. There are several antiques dealers, but they're all Charlotte. www.clearinghousesouth.com
I was *sure* I saw a reference to an Atlanta version.......sigh.

4. The ritziest I've seen were in New Orleans |

Sadly, I imagine business is still a bit slow there. The most expensive shops there are on Royal St.
My wife was there with a colleague once. He asked her opinion on what a small chest would cost. She looked at it and said "hmm... about a year's pay". She said.
"You make a good living", he replied, as he looked at the price tag.

5. Have you tried Gatsby's? |

They are in Atlanta and usually have very lah-dee-dah high-end auctions. The kind that last all weekend and come with free catering... http://www.gatsbys.com/
