If someone would invent a safe cigarette, I would kiss them profusely |
|
(maybe with tongue). I really, really want to smoke. I'm not going to, but DAMN! We can transplant most of a human face, travel in space, map the human genome, and I STILL CAN"T SMOKE!!!

He's got a nasty goopy nose, but he's not feverish and cranky anymore, so I'll take it!

11. If you can get through today you'll be fine then! |
|
I took pills to help me quit. They worked great, but they had some unintended consequences.

14. I took pills AND went on the patch, |
|
and I still wanted to kill someone. Having "a few" is definitely not worth the frustration of having to quit again.

19. I took Zyban/Welbutrin |
|
It was easy enough to quit.
The fact that my ears fall asleep a year later is almost not worth it.

|
But that's because you would have had to half-collapse your bronchial trees to get a decent drag from it.

I can't anyway. It's not in the budget, and I promised not to do it anymore.

I quit 2 1/2 years ago (after smoking for nearly 30 years)...and I still dream of smoking! I really enjoyed it...I just didn't want to die from it. Whoever invents a safe cigarette will be a gazillionaire! Hang in there...it's worth it!

I mean, there is that whole "they'll eventually kill me" thing...but hey, nothing in life is ever exactly perfect.

seems as close as you're going to get. Either that or a nicotine free cigarrette (I think they are quest brand)

24. I'd rather they invent an antidote for wanting them. |
|
If you feel like you want one, just decide that you don't want one. Realize it is the craving or whatever talking and not you. You've come a long way, baby, and I know you can go the distance. Fuck Phillip Morris and the right-wing assholes they put in Congress.
