So...who wants to join me in a letter writing campaign demanding that they make the box available for purchase separately for those of us who already own seasons 1-6?

1. I'm just going to sit here and admire the pic for awhile!

There's something very satisfying about getting everything together in one place, isn't there!

I hope Season 7 has some kind of tribute to John Spencer ...

Thanks for posting!

4. I know...
I keep looking at the pic too. I want that damn box!

And yeah, there better be a John Spencer tribute. I can't imagine that there won't be.

You're welcome!

3. I know.
I think I'm in love.

And yeah...45 DVDs. 7 seasons. 21ish 1-hour episodes per season...takes up a bit of disk space, ya know. ;)

7. I'm saving money and only buying seasons 1-4
The show was still good in seasons 5-7 but not good enough to watch over again. The dialogue and storylines in the Sorkin era are so well written that I literally sit there with my DVD remote and rewind 3 or 4 times an episode.

8. I hear you there
but I'm a huuuuuge Allison Janney fan, so I have them all (well, 1-6 so far).

I'm not willing to pay $300 for the box, although it is beautiful...sigh.

13. Nope, just 1-4
and yes, there is a very obvious difference after he leaves. The first few eppies of S5 are AWFUL (by West Wing standards). They do get their shit back together eventually, but it isn't ever quite the same.

22. I'm with you on this one.
I actually thought the episodes of season 5 weren't that good. Not just not up to Aaron Sorkin's level, but just plain not good. I never felt the need to want to revisit those episodes, so I didn't buy the complete season 5.

17. I already have seasons 1-6 and I wouldn't sell them for the world
Just when I think the world can't get any worse I pop in a DVD, sit back and enjoy a president that is smart, can speak well, has a good group of people surrounding him and actually gives a damn about the country. I'll take President Bartlett over ANY GOP repug warm body any day. Reality TV news programs bite since 2001.

Can't wait until November 7 (how apropos!) for the final season to be released. I can live without the pretty box, I can't live without the idea that there are actual Democratic people for viewing.

I've recommended this before - if you get a chance pick up a couple of Sorkin's West Wing script books (available at Amazon). They are a pleasure to read. There are a thousand details that go into the scripts (sometimes only playing for mere seconds) that give the whole flavor of the scene. The book that contains the "Two Cathedrals" episodes displays Sorkin's pure genius.

19. As long as there's nothing new in the box set
that's not available in the single-season sets, I think I'll save my cash.

But, ooh! Pretty! :loveya:

20. I'd get the DVDs, but
I think I've already memorized a lot of my favorite episodes by seeing the Bravo reruns ad infinitum. I can't wait for the new show with Josh, the commercials for it look pretty good.
