Hi! I wanna do a Christmas In July Thurs-Fri...here's why
I have kids...LOTS of kids...My oldest got married, they move in a couple weeks...my step daughter is here, but she leaves next weekend and lives too far to get her again for CHristmas...plus three more besides...so altogether I have six kids plus me and husband.

I had a whim to do Christmas mostly for my step daughter, but something we could all enjoy. we plan on making homemade ornaments, candies, etc..as well as drawing names and doing "Secret Santa" with only one dollar to buy something thoughtful for each person.

anyone else ever do this? any ideas? I have to do this tomorrow and Fri. because it's the only time we will all be together...my camera is ready...

1. I think it's sort of an interesting idea,
but when Christmas 2006 rolls around, you're just bound to have that Chrismas as well! Me, beginning this year I'm celebrating with pagan rituals and doing away with the whole Christ thing.

I hope it's fun! Everybody likes the holidays, no matter when you celebrate 'em!

6. Well, I think it's a good idea,
with or without Jesus' attendance.

5. It snowed in 2004
On Christmas actually. In Corpus we had about 5 inches. Naturally I was not there; I was in Albany, NY where (of course) we had no snow at all.

7. Sounds like it could be fun!
I say go for it -- it's bound to be one of those stories they'll tell their children about (remember when Mom organized a Christmas in July party when we were all together in the summer of 2006?).

Your entire 'keep it simple' plan is a winner. Hope your family enjoys it! :D
