and was in a musical playing a role that is often played by a gay actor doesn't mean you really knew he was gay. :)

Besides now all his young fans know he's gay.

What I found surprising is that he thought it would kill his career. At least around where I live, it seems that most girls realize that gay guys are awesome by the time they reach HS. Hell, the other day I overheard the funniest thing from one of my sister's friends..."Yeah, so you know that really, really hot guy I was dating in the winter? Well, it turns out he's so totally gay. He has a boyfriend and everything, but it's okay, because we're totally best friends now..."
