5. Trained to poop in Dick Cheney's yard on Euclid in Highland Park (Dallas)

A really special dog. Head of Turds for Cheney for four years. The Secret Service hated us during that null period between November and December 2000. No one dog ever laid as much shit on Dick & Lynn's Texas mansion grounds as sweet Sirius. All hail Sweet Sirius!

EDIT
BTW: Old story for the old DUers. Sirius is famous at DU for this!

17. ah, dear Sirius, not only a sweet face, but smarts to boot!
that would be the house that Cheney 'didn't' inhabit, right? Cheney revised that bit of history and became a Wyoming resident overnight... :sarcasm: yeah, I remember that. He was known to live in Dallas for years. good job, Sirius!!

2. I'll bet Sirius gave you much love, and I'm sure it was returned many
times over to him. He looks like he was a wonderful, sweet companion, and one you are so glad to have had in your life. Thinking of you.

7. What a kind and gentle face.
He looks like a sweet boy...

How is Nick-Nick doing??

We had to put our sweet Cody to sleep last summer (June 12th). I miss him, too.

15. Well, Allen .. Sirius is with us!
I dream about him every night. I often call Nick-Nick, Sirius. Nick-Nick, who was in the room when Sirius died last August, jerks his head around like I'd addressed him by name. I think some of Sirius is now in Nick-Nick, especially the sweetness.

19. Firmly believe one critter will give instructions to another before going
Watched my very old cat lay paw on each of the other cats hours before she passed. Reminded me of when Spock was gonna die in that movie -putting his hand on McCoy and saying 'remember'.

The other two cats sorta split Smudge's 'duties' between them. They started doing things they had never done but that she always did. They 'took care of mom'

When the next cat was facing end of life, the younger (not by much) was suddenly very sweet and caring. He would groom his friend and guide him as his vision failed. He would cajole and encourage him to eat and venture out to visit with friends who came by. On the morning that the old cat passed, Louie took special care with grooming his old pal. He hummed sweetly, like a momma cat to her kittens. He really comforted the old guy. He knew.

And he took on some of his pal's duties...

The kitten that came after the last old cat was gone seems to see things around here. When that happens, she starts doing some old habits that she has never seen... She becomes quite sweet, which is not her nature.

Methinks she has some old coaches hanging around from time to time, offering up some plays. ;)

They make promises with each other to look out for us. And they keep those promises.

14. Sometimes when I look up at the stars at night, up at Sirius,
I ask your sweet boy to smile on you.

The Dog Star... I laugh when remember your posts about him shitting on Cheney's yard.

We honor the anniversary of your friend's birth. He was a DU kinda guy ;)

16. I named him Sirius so that I could look up and see him in the winter sky.
ALWAYS! Nick-Nick's name is actually Canicula, the Latin name for the Dog Star (Sirius is Greek).
