7. I'm on what my friend calls the "selective eating" diet
In other words, eat certain things and leave the rest on the plate.

10. my way of eating is
lots and lots of protein, very little carbs. Lots of water to drink, at least 64 or more ounces a day.
and a lot of nutritional supplements and vitamins.

aA

I can pretty well eat anything I want, and I do, but I'm careful to get all the protein I need.

11. just curious
I did some high protein diets in the past, and many nights I had a lot of trouble falling asleep. Do you have this problem too?

14. no not at all .. the only time
I had some real trouble with getting to sleep and staying asleep was when my Iron level was dangerously low. I was given Iron infusions and that corrected the problem over a couple of weeks. I now take a prescription iron pill 2x per day.

Here's my story if you're at all interested.

Having had WLS (weight loss surgery). Specifically the Biliopancreatic Diversion w/a Duodenal Switch, I have to take vitamins and supplements to help maintain good health.

Here's my menu.

Vitamin D (prescription) 2x per day
A&D 400 IU 3x per day
D 400 IU 3x per day
1 B complex with C 3x per day
1 Solo Multi-Vit 3x per day
1 Calcium Citrate 1000 3x per day
Iron (prescription) 2x per day
Evening Primrose Oil capsule 2x day
Biotin 2x day
Cranberry capsule 2x day
N-Acetyl Cysteine 2x day (supposed to help w/hair loss)

I also take Creon which is an enzyme, 3x per day with a meal. This helps a LOT with the absorption issues.

I know this looks like a lot! But it's a small price to pay for the success I've gotten from my surgery.

IF I feel I'm not getting enough protein, I drink 1 or 2 Revival Soy shakes in a day, they are 20 grams of protein each.
I strive to eat at least 80 grams of protein per day, often times I can go way over that.

Carbs are still my downfall. I LOVE bread etc, but I pay for it when I do eat it, lots of gas. I don't worry too much about fats, I don't absorb them.

If I have problems with swelling ankles (happens once in while) I have lasix and prescription potassium.

12. I try to eat low fat, but occasionally give into temptation.
I never liked the low carb craze at all. I took a lot of biochemistry during my undergraduate and post-grad years, and the low-carb option never seemed like a healthy choice to me.
