And, I'm a cat person who also loves the really big dogs. Loving the kittens....that is a good thing. My big dogs have always looked after their cat friends. That is more than most people do, truth to tell. Kittens are in your trust, do well by them.

wild again once the kits are weaned. (She has to - we already have too many in the house.)

7. Our cats would invariably wake my mother in the middle of the night,

meow like crazy and mama would build them a birthing nest in the bottom of the linen closet! They trusted her to help. It was so sweet.

I kinda hope she asks for help, and I kinda don't. I've never actually helped a cat give birth - and this one's feral!

She's in our guest room, and I've made her two birthing boxes. I really hope she chooses one of them, instead of the bed or the hardwood floor. (It's a warm room despite the A/C & ceiling fan; she really likes to lay on the cool floor.)
