15. There's a BIG difference between casual weekend users and

the ones who are totally strung out, stay up for weeks at a time, and live for the drug. I've seen the effects first hand on a few people that I know.

28. I knew a bunch of crystal meth users back in the '80s

(worked in a resort in Palm Springs -- everyone but me was using both that and cocaine) and they also escaped unscathed in terms of such radical effects, but they tended to use it as a supplement to cocaine and not as their prime drug of choice. The person who became my wife was one of them, and kicking it all was relatively easy for her.

I see a few regulars (your basic crazy variant of the Reagan-era street person, whether homeless or not) on the street here in Vegas who've almost certainly sold their souls for crystal meth...they look a good 30 or 40 years older (and I'm talking a bad variant on aging, with none of this perrenially youthful Ann Margret/Sophia Loren/Tina Turner stuff going on) than they really are and are always majorly strung out on something whenever I have the misfortune of encountering them (I seem to be something of a magnet for weirdos, drunks, and high-fliers). It's evil stuff. All mind-altering substances are anathema to me, but some are worse than others and crystal meth is one of the most insidious. Not the WWII Luftwaffe's greatest contribution to modern technology.

for money and yes indeed, the bad ones DO look like that.

Bad facial sores, and a premature aged look. It's really sad.

These are the hardcore constant abusers, and that is absolutely what it does to them.
