Marijuana Gumballs Found at Maryland School
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. - Federal drug agents aren't laughing about marijuana packaged in yellow, smiley-faced gumballs.

The "Greenades" gumballs were found in January at Howard High School in Ellicott City. The federal Drug Enforcement Agency recently released an intelligence bulletin about them.

"It's a new idea and it's new to the DEA," Gregory Lee, a retired supervisory special agent of the Drug Enforcement Agency, told The Baltimore Examiner. "When it comes to drug dealing, you're only limited by your imagination."

Police charged three 17-year-old students after a teacher alerted a school resource officer. She told the officer that she saw a student give a plastic bag that the teacher believed contained drugs to another student.

4. My Dad has some stories
When he was in the navy, he busted sailors all the time for attempting to smuggle hash. You wouldn't believe the variety of methods.

Or maybe you would. :-)

8. I was just in Ellicott City!
The Ellicott City Brewing Co. has DELICIOUS beer. No, seriously, if you like craft beers check the place out. The whole downtown is Thomas Kinkade adorable, really, but kind of strange. Perhaps this explains why!

14. It's seriously visually Kinkade
The downtown will give you cavities, it's all little and quaint and cobblestoney. Even their stores are adorable, if a little strange. But the people who live around there are straight up Maryland-style hicks, man! My girlfriend and I were walking around on the main drag and a carload of kids drove past us as shouted, "Faggots!" (my gf are both pretty butch) It's bizarro Kinkade!

19. I try to avoid going south of North Jersey.
This just solidified that goal. Cute little towns in New England don't result in gay bashing idiots. New England has that really nice "live and let live" philosophy.

Just drive quickly all the way to DC--this is one of the gayest cities I've ever lived in! :D

BTW, I've seen you around a lot before and I always wondered--is your username for Haruka Tenoh? Because if so that'd be awesome. :hi:

27. I was just there today...
Historic Ellicott City, which dates to the 1770s, was once a Patapsco River mill town that helped spawn the old National Turnpike...Route 40. Both Ellicott City and its neighbor, Oella have charming architecture from a variety of eras. Happily, it isn't too Thomas Kinkadey...many of the buildings are just run-down enough to make the visitor aware that Ellicott City is a place where people actually live and work.

Sadly, much of the surrounding area has congealed with Columbia...the planned community lover's dream :puke:...including a number of historic farm houses and taverns.

34. haha, my gf lives in Columbia
She says that people call it 'The People's Republic of Columbia' because it's so planned. It both tickles and frightens me. The Columbia Mall is one of the most frightening places I've ever been but the places where there is still farmland are quite lovely.

Although, I'm in my 20s so maybe the gumball phenomenon will be the next big high and I just missed out. I still think it's a cool idea though.

She lived where I went to high school when she was much younger, and I kid about being a geezer and such. :-)

I am not much of a gum chewer, although I welcome creativity. Just hope the gum doesn't kick in the munchies so much that one is compelled to swallow piece after piece. :o ;-)

And hey, if you went to high school in the mid-80's, then you're only ten years ahead of me. That means if you're a geezer, I ain't far behind. :scared:

They refer to most of the local as corndaddys, but there is a good brewpub and a nice French restaurant in the old town area.

Their daughter starts high school this fall. I'll ask if I can get some gum.

36. Gumballs have been hollow for decades
I'm surprised no one thought of this before. I never thought of it either, but I don't sit around all day thinking of ways to smuggle weed.

It makes sense, though: cut open a gumball, pack it with weed, put it back together with a little bit of water, then sell them to smokers who cut them open and roll joints.
