RRR's Daughter is HOME!
Lisa called about 10 minutes ago. Sarah is HOME. Asleep on the couch. No details at all at this point. Lisa is exhausted and giddy. I'm sure she'll post more when she's able.

BTW, there's also a thread going in GD.

:hi:

They must all be exhausted. And now, thankfully, they can rest.

So happy for the RRR family.

Thank goodness, safe and sound.

YAY!

12. How grounded is RRR's daughter?
Scale of 1 - 10?

I'd say 2,972.

(unless I'm not fully apprised of the situation)

23. I think the reactions will go way beyond grounding.
Both of them have been through fears and levels of relief I hope I never experience. I'm sure any talk of grounding is a bit simplistic in regards to what they need from each other right now. You ground your daughter for breaking curfew. This requires something a lot more complex and interactive.

38. Yeah.
This is one of those times where you take everything out of her room except for a bed, maybe a lamp and a clock. Then, as she learns not to run away and scare the HELL out of her family, then maybe she can slowly earn everything back. Oh, that and going to and from school, and then home to her room, only to leave to go to the bathroom and eat. And probably about a brazillion other things, but she's not my kid. And she'll be happy she's not.

67. Right now really isn't the time for talking about grounding. Nor is
it time for RRR to act out of anger, which I doubt she will, but I don't know her. Right now is the time to be finding out what went so wrong somewhere. Something happened somewhere for the child to leave in the middle of the night to begin with. Maybe she just snuck out, planned to be back before anyone woke up, but somehow managed to either:
A.) fall asleep

B.) get high or drunk, or just lost track of time and was scared to come home; or

C.) got stranded by her ride home and couldn't get there before anyone woke up, figured she was in trouble big time anyways and didn't want to come home

Those are just a few wild guesses from a single father of a 13 & 14 year old. And as someone who used to sneak out when he was young, and has been in ALL of the above situations as a teen.

I read a post earlier where someone hoped RRR would tell everyone soon what happened. I disagree with that wholeheartedly. I don't think she owes us any further explanation, as this is a deep family matter. Granted, it was brought out in public here, but that was an appeal to help find a missing child.... not an appeal for everyone to get involved in their family issues once the case had been resolved. If RRR wants to tell anyone, that is strictly her call and her business.

:hi: Hi Will... I enjoy your writing a lot, dude.

PEACE!

Ghost

72. Thanks, Ghost!
I wouldn't ever expect an explanation from RRR. It's her house. But I pulled something similar to this when I was about that age. When I finally came home, I got bounced off every wall in the house (by my mom) and got grounded for so long that when I finally emerged, I had started shaving on a regular basis and my clothes were out of style.
