He's home!!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x5412526#5414093

I posted about my husband on Monday. He was in the hospital and I was very worried.

He came home today and he is back to his ole cranky self. And I love it! LOL

Docs said his wound could take 3 months to a year to heal. They also told him if he was diabetic, he would have lost his leg. And they said if he had waited 24 more hours to come to the ER, he would have lost his leg.

Thank you to all the DUers who posted replies, PMed me and prayed. I tried to respond to all but there were so many it was just overwhelming. You guys rock!

2. Great news !! Please
tell him to be so very careful and not have any harm come to the leg while it heals! I'm sure you're thrilled to have his crankiness back in your home and in your care.

I'm very happy for you both.

19. Waking up deformed, but ending up normal looking again does
Edited on Fri Jul-28-06 12:24 AM by haruka3_2000
boost your confidence.

The fact that they stuck me in the pediatric ward at 20 just makes the story funny. Nothing like having 15 year old volunteers offering to bring me disney videos and clowns... Then you throw in friends showing up with digital cameras (and me trying to fight them off despite the IV) and them informing me about the hottie nurse and it almost takes your mind off the fact that you feel like you're dying and you look deformed.

20. Oh, I know it...
I'm still having flashbacks of driving on the MA Pike in May, 70 mph, when the VA hospital called me on my cell, talking about "critical condition" and "Do Not Resuscitate Orders" for my Dad... :scared:

I'm so happy for you. :)

15. Hooray!
I'm sorry you'll miss your trip to Wisconsin, but there's always next year. In the meanwhile, I hope the healing progresses well, and that the job situation/OSHA stuff gets sorted out.

And remember, I'm just a PM away, if you need to talk.

Yes I can go on vacation anytime.

I am still planning on going to Crawford in two weeks. Hubby and kids said they would be sure to take care of things here so I can go. And I ma sure he will be almost back to normal by then.

22. He just got out of the shower
and insisted he needed no help. And he is now rebandaging his wound and wants no help. 48 hours ago, he couldn't walk without severe pain.

Ah the wonders of modern medicine!

Am sure he will rest better now out of the hospital. Every time I've been in the hospital, couldn't wait to get out of there and be in my own bed, my own space.

...and would make a bet that you are one smiling happy woman tonight ;)
