I watched "The Benchwarmers" last night - hilarious! |
|
Fucking great comedy - not quite a full-on classic of the genre, but damned funny.
Everyone was wonderful. I'm a big David Spade fan, and his character, while still Spade-ish, was a bit of a different kind of character for him. And John Lovitz was pure brilliance.
Great writing, the cast worked perfectly together, the story was touching while being funny as hell...
Two thumbs up!!

1. Did Ron Howard direct it? |
|
Because if he didn't, why would I want to see it? It would be a piece of shit without his Magic Touch.

2. No, he didn't - but imagine how much better it would have been! |
|
It would have achieved Citizen Kane artfulness and historical importance!

Clint Howard would have shown Lovitz and Spade the DOOR. He would have punked those bastards.
Plus, Wilford Brimley would have been given a role, maybe as the dying father of Clint Howard, just to manipulate those hearrrrrrt strings!

4. Yeah, it would have been better if someone would have been dying. |
|
Ron Howard knows that, and that's why he would have made a better film. A more emotionally gripping and moving film.
He also would have made sure that the music did a better job of telling me how I should be feeling. Good directors, like Howard and Spielberg, make sure of those little details.
