52. I went to school with a girl whose last name was Tiddy...
and I'm sure she feels your pain. She had hers legally changed to Teddy when she turned 18. The kids tortured that poor girl, and it was awful for her. :( She was really sweet, too.

it's pretty common, but I like it - it was actually after my paternal grandmother that I never got the chance to meet and she was named Leona.

My parents were both VERY young when I was born, and it impresses me that they were able to fashion my first and middle names after grandparents without being the exact name of the grandparent.

Great American name. You were totally robbed. I would kill several nuns, orphans, and gifted artists to have a cool middle name like Eisenhower. I would literally drink a bucket of bleach--literally; not just the bleach, but the bucket, too--if that would assure me of a kick ass name like Eisenhower. I would find somebody actually named Eisenhower, kill them, carve their face off, staple their face to my face, and assume their identity just to have that name. Literally.

After my great-grandfather. I have an older cousin named Elkan also named after him--apparently one of the elderly relatives couldn't recall for sure whether GGF's name was Elkanan or Elchanan, so our parents had to double up on it to make sure he was covered.
