Dear Smoking Friends,

It can be done.

When you're ready: get support, make a plan and put it down. If you don't succeed the first time, try again.

It's worth it. :hi:

We now resume our regularly scheduled lounge threads...

3. Hey, congratulations to you!
I quit three weeks ago, and given my past struggles, I feel pretty damned good about it, even if it' only been a short time.

Two years! That's fabulous!

6. Congrats! I've recently been considering quitting.
I'm still in the "considering" stage, but that's a huge leap from my usual "no way in hell, I like it too much" stage.

Maybe soon...

Those few days before the 'quit date' were far worse than the actual quitting. Sometimes, its such a mind game.

I wish I had your strength. I've been a slave to the weed for such a long time and wish I could quit. I really noticed it today as I was helping a friend move into her new house and had to take frequent breaks because I was so winded. And what did I do during these breaks? Lit up of course. Stupid me.

Anyway, as we French people say.......Bon Courage.......I wish you continued success.

You're not stupid! All smokers have been there.

When you're ready, you can do it.

Love your user name, btw. :hi:

24. I'm Very Proud Of You!!!!!!!!
Congratulations! :loveya:

It's a great feeling, isn't it??

You're right... having a plan, getting support from friends and family, bragging about your accomplishments, treating yourself and rewarding yourself with some of the savings... it all makes the process easier.

Have you noticed that you can now smell smokers, but you never noticed it before? I can. --- Sometimes it makes me wonder if *I* actually smelled that bad to other non-smokers.

28. It *is* a great feeling.
Cigarettes are over $5.00 a pack here in SF; I've saved a fortune ($3,600.00). Ok, it's not quite a fortune but at least I'm not taking a match to a $5 bill everyday.

You're right about the smell -- eau de nicotine. PeeeeeYewwwww. :hi: :*
