I'm watching "Boys Don't Cry" on IFC.
I don't know why. This movie always depresses the fuck out of me. The first time I watched it was with my trans boyfriend and it always fucks me up to watch it. I don't know why I even am.

1. That movie is emotional suicide.
I'm not gay. I don't know any transsexuals. I'm just a regular middle-class broad.

And that movie made me want to fucking kill myself!

2. Yeah, I totally shouldn't watch this movie.
Oddly enough, this is the movie that really started to make my ex-boyfriend realize he was trans.

3. Hillary Swank is a hell of an actress.
Between that and Million Dollar Baby, she deserved the oscars.

She, and Charlize Theron are great at playing "real" roles.

4. Yes, she is.
And Kimberly Pierce is hell of a director.

5. Yeah, I was kinda gonna ask, "Why do that to yourself right now?!"
Are you mad?? I think I could probably stand to see "Leaving Las Vegas" again. Maybe even two or three times more. But "Boys Don't Cry"? ...egh. I'm trying to get out of my depression, not plunge back in head first.

6. I think the totally unglamorized look of the movie
adds to the sense of depression.

Everyone is stuck in dead-end jobs living dead-end lives.
