I was hoping for another "Sixth Sense" from M. Night. No such luck, altho the movie did have a strange appeal to me. I stayed with it because I wanted to see what would happen.

That guy's smokin' something strong I think.

1. I haven't seen it yet I'm a huge fan of M. Night
Would you say it was good? Some people didn't like The Villge and I did. I've liked all of his films, Signs was even interesting to me. I like the concepts he choses kind of a la Twilight Zone.

3. Oh, you'll like it then
It's just, well, strange. The actress playing the lead female role is very good and you can't take your eyes off of her. Paul Giammati is also good. So is M. Night himself in a key role.

As I said, I didn't hate it (which I did with Signs). And I wanted to see how the story ended and what happened to the lady in the water.

4. I liked the surprise of The Village...
...but he broke his own internal rules by <SPOILER> making the guy in the suit run at superhuman speed through the forest without disturbing a dry leaf or brittle branch to get behind the blind girl.

He made it look like there really WAS a monster by doing this, then showed us the real monster, aka modern society. Nice message, but he cheated to do so.</SPOILER>

And WTF was with that bullshit ending in Signs? It plays like a middle-schooler wrote himself into a corner and just pulled at straws to wrap it up. Prophecy? Baseball bat? Water?

Give. Me. A. BREAK.

5. I guessed the ending of "The Village"--(spoiler warning)--
--in the very first shot of the film. The tombstone showed a death date of "1897"--and aha, says me, it can't really be 1897, then...so when is it? And the answer came immediately--it must be now...I liked the film even so, maybe more so, because I guessed what was going on...you could see how well-crafted it all was...

6. haven't seen it yet myself...
I didn't catch on to the 6th sense twist until teh end, but I caught on to the village before I even saw the film..and was proved right.

I hope this one is good, but I must say, my partner and I went to see MONSTER HOUSE over LADY IN THE WATER and it was fantastic. I will see Lady though.
