Is anybody excited about "Snakes On A Plane"? One of the other
Edited on Sat Jul-29-06 02:02 PM by Radio_Lady
film reviewers in Portland posted this on her blog.

I don't think there are plans to screen this for this press, but I could be wrong about that.

retired, but still heard locally and on line at Oregon Public Broadcasting.

I'm really curious to see if that movie will be any good at all. (By "good", I mean "entertaining".) I'm already hearing a lot of anti-snakeplane backlash.

29th-Jul-2006 12:28 am (UTC)

ZOMG! (Radio_Lady's note: Is that a superlative to OMG?)

29th-Jul-2006 12:31 am (UTC)

Apparently there's going to be or already is a straight-to-video "mockbuster" titled Snakes on a Train.

I can't remember a film I've heard (or seen) as much of as this one for ages!

Wonderful pic though! *winks*

29th-Jul-2006 11:59 am (UTC)

Wait, that's a real film? I thought it was some kind of running joke.

To capitalize "OMG".

11. Don't get me started
This will suck big time while making tons and tons of money. It represents everything that's wrong with the movie business, and anyone who pays money to see it loses all rights to complain about the quality of movies EVER.

Look, folks, even if it was merely FUN they would screen it for the critics. This movie is a motherfuckin' dog.

16. That's the whole point.
People KNOW it's going to be bad. People KNOW it's going to be cheesy. It's camp. It's all about just how bad it's going to be.

25. Cheese can be good. BAD can be good.
And if this movie was good IN ANY WAY, they would screen it for the critics.

38. Alternate spelling... it's SHAUN. I don't recall being invited to this
screening in 2004, but you could certainly be right.

I saw the film in a Seattle hotel room last year -- cracked me up completely! It's a terrific film!

In peace,

23. Here's my take on that. Sometimes, if a movie is REALLY BAD,
the major studios won't screen it. Also, if it's REALLY GOOD, they might "trim the list" and get only a few reviewers to see it.

This also happens with small, independent movies that are actually very good (or bad). They simply don't have the money to use for marketing and publicity.
