It was hot as hell. And i did sort of get tanked..Thank goodness for designated drivers!

I had photographed the immigration rally that day and was wearing my DU shirt. This is as intimate as I've ever been with her. We go way back.

And even cooler was that this was the shirt that I received for free after coming up with the slogan during a DU contest about a year ago. I don't know if you were here, but Skinner had us all come up with slogans, telling us they would pick the best ones for a new line of DU T-shirts.

I came up with a bunch of slogans and they chose the one that said: "Democratic Underground: Check us out before the Feds shut us down."

A few other DUers also came up with cool slogans as well, including one that simply said: "FUGWB".

So we all received a free t-shirt with the slogan we came up with.

Those events are always funny. They start out all sophisticated, but an hour or so into the free wine & beer and it devolves into debauchery. At least for the employees (which we were), the actual patrons tend to be better behaved.

The actual patrons are partly there to be seen, so there's no making a scene. The employees don't really much care if they're the slightest bit extroverted.

Although, I do believe that was the one where I got my ear stuck to an old man during intermission. Other than that awkwardness, it was great. We even got the fundy closeted stage manager really high. She ended up stealing a Christmas tree, strapping it to the roof of her subaru and driving off with her "best friend." Of course, as a good Christian, she did go back to the tree lot and pay for it the next day. I really wish I could have heard the explanation she gave for that one.
