Sad friggen story. NOT A FUNNY POST
I have a woman friend. She has daughters. They live in another place. One of the daughters started having severe pains, and had a miscarriage.

She had the miscarriage in the toilet, and then called one of her sisters to take her to the hospital because she was hemorraging. She was 3 months pregnant.

The hospital took her in for some kind of surgery for a half hour, kept her for 2 hours, and sent her home.

Meanwhile, the miscarriage is in the toilet.

It's midnight. She is bleeding profusely and taken to the hospital, a different hospital, again by a sister.

No one can bear to think about the miscarriage, so it is still in the toilet. No one has used it.

She is admitted, taken to surgery, and it is discovered that she was going to have twins, and one of the babies was still inside of her. She is fixed up, and is no longer bleeding.

The sister finally got the miscarriage out of the toilet. She took it took her grandmother's gravesite, and buried it.

She said she had been crying nonstop for two days.

Some days, life is hard.

8. I don't know if your friend is spiritual or not,
I say spiritual because I don't have a religion yet I still pray. But I send prayers of comfort to your friend.

3. Was
still inside her. Does that mean that the twin is also...?

Some days life is hard. Some days life is damn near unbearable for some folks. I can't imagine.

6. they had to remove the twin
to stop the hemorraging.

I don't know really how it all works, but god damn, it's sad.

The sister having to dig the one out of the toilet and bury it (I don't even know the sex) at the grandmother's gravesite is what gets me.

This is a very large, native american/hispanic family, and it meant a lot to them.

7. No
the 2nd one didn't make it either. I'm understanding that the mom is very lucky to be alive.

Some in the family are becoming extremely pissed at the first hospital that sent her home to possibly bleed and die, because they never even caught the fact that there was another fetus in there.

9. I would be too.
I have question. Did she have proper pre-natal care ? Did she know that she was carrying twins ?

11. I don't guess she did
have proper prenatal care, though she lives in a large city, and visited the clinic supposedly often (she's poor, and the father is a jerk fool who isn't even in the picture). The clinic never told her that she was going to have twins, though she was three months pregnant.

I really don't know how unusual this is. The not knowing at three months part. It just seems they should have known, and the hospital she was taken to should have taken more care to make sure she was ok.

She's a beautiful young woman, who is a good person, and for them to treat her the way they did - almost to the point of allowing her to die - is insane.

10. Oh, how awful!
The family must be devastated.

I've known people who have gone through similar horror stories with pregnancies, and I know how very painful that is for all involved.

Be there for your friend in the coming weeks and months ahead, as well as right now.

13. thank you, and I will be there
devastated is a good word to use, because I think they're all in shock.

Having to bury the "baby" by their grandmother in the old cemetery in the middle of nowhere is really making it all more real for them.

Like I pointed out earlier, they are a large family with a long term belief system.

12. Very sad but...
I hate to sound gruesome but the fetus should have been taken in to the hospital. I have been trhough several miscarriages and they did tests on what was passed to check for abnormalities and so forth.

Prayers for your friend. I've been there....

and you're right about that. I just don't think anyone was thinking beyond the mother getting to the hospital and surviving.

It is incredibly sad.

18. thanks, but
the other one wasn't saved.

both died. One went to the hospital graveyard, and the other one, thankfully, ended up next to the grandmother.

At least Cathy is still alive. She's a beautiful girl and human.

I am sorry. I was reading too quickly. I am glad that Cathy is doing alright physically. Mentally, though, I am sure she will need time to heal. My condolences.

I'm currently dealing with the family's responses.

It's a big deal in this house right now.

People keep asking me for answers, and I just keep telling them to look into themselves and tell them to say what they feel.

that's the healthiest way. I think.

Santa Maria, Santa Teresa, Santa Anna, Santa Susannah
Santa Cecilia, Santa Copelia, Santa Domenica, Mary Angelica
Frater Achad, Frater Pietro, Julianus, Petronilla
Santa, Santos, Miroslaw, Vladimir
and all the rest

a man is placed upon the steps, a baby cries
and high above the church bells start to ring
and as the heaviness the body oh the heaviness settles in
somewhere you can hear a mother sing

then it's one foot then the other as you step out onto the road
how much weight? how much weight?
then it's how long? and how far?
and how many times before it's too late?

calling all angels
calling all angels
walk me through this one
don't leave me alone
calling all angels
calling all angels
we're cryin' and we're hurtin'
and we're not sure why...

and every day you gaze upon the sunset
with such love and intensity
it's almost...it's almost as if
if you could only crack the code
then you'd finally understand what this all means

but if you could...do you think you would
trade in all the pain and suffering?
ah, but then you'd miss
the beauty of the light upon this earth
and the sweetness of the leaving

calling all angels
calling all angels
walk me through this one
don't leave me alone
callin' all angels
callin' all angels
we're tryin'
we're hopin'
we're hurtin'
we're lovin'
we're cryin'
we're callin'
'cause we're not sure how this goes

my utmost deepest condolences
