Doesn't it creep you out, just a little bit...
Those of you who believe in 'guardian angels' or whatever...I hear people say all the time "I know so-and-so is watching over me" and I get the whole wanting to feel like your loved one is still *with* you. I totally get that. But if you believe that, are there like, rules of decency or something? I mean, what about indelicate/private moments? On the toilet? In flagrante delicto? Does grandma just turn her head? Does she point and laugh? Does she say "Hey! You guys...come watch this!"?

This has bothered me for a while. And yes, I'm kinda making a joke but I'd also be very interested in hearing what those who *do* believe in this think about this matter.

1. You mean, does my mom watch me take a dump?
I think she'd find that rather boring.

But does my mom know what I'm going through in life, and is she there for me to talk to, confide in, cry with, and miss? You betcha.

At least, that's my experience in the last 4-1/2 months.

5. In the 14 years since my dad passed away, he's been coaching me.
But only in intimate situations. He leaves my professional and social lives entirely alone (they must have the Prime Directive in the afterwold, I'm guessing), but when I'm havin' a shag? He's there above me, saying "OK, to the left now" or "slow down, you want her to walk later, right?" or "that's not it, Casanova" or whatever. And at the happy ending, he's always there for me with an "attaboy!"

I love my creepy, dead, voyeuristic dad.

9. It *is* awesome.
And to hear tell what some of my young ladyfriends have said, they wished more guys had astral drill instructors.

Though of course, they could be faking it.

10. I was told rather convincingly once, by a Spiritualist minister,
that my long-departed grandmother watches over me and tucks me into bed each night. She was a very decent woman and I'm sure she looks away when I'm on the toilet and such.

11. I'd say they're there when you need them to be.

In important life situations, like when you're thinking of them or lonely or scared or needing their energy or guidance, or whatever like that. IF you're open to it. And I think they're sort of "on call" when you don't need them: Not there, but available.

I don't think they watch you when you're on the crapper or doing the nasty. I don't think God or Santa do, either.

14. I still have a little bit of paranoia
because when I was kid - my parents kept telling me how Jesus and GOD watched EVERYTHING I DID!

I used to be "embarassed" to go to the bathroom, take a bath, change clothes, etc. I used to make up all kinds of stories/excuses/explanations for EVERYTHING I did. Anytime I'd bath or brush my teeth. Change clothes. Think or do anything at all, I'd think about "BEING WATCHED" - and I'd have to make up stories about WHY I "did it" (whatever "it" was.......)

Only at some point J & the big G - were joined by "other people" who knew me - friends, relatives, neighbors - so I was always afraid of people watching me......

Fortunately fot he most part I grew out of it - but I still find myself "explaining (in my head) why I'm doing x or y or z . . . " :sigh:

Sometimes religion can be sooooooo damaging.
