I love John Fogerty's energy!
Has he commented on the current situation?

Regardless, his old songs resonate against today's events.

A friend saw him perform at an amphitheater the other day near Birmingham. His opening act was Willie Nelson. My friend said there were no overt politics. But my friend also said he performed this song with much vigor.

Some folks are born made to wave the flag,
ooh, they're red, white and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail To The Chief",
oh, they point the cannon at you, Lord,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no senator's son,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no,

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,
Lord, don't they help themselves? oh.
But when the taxman come to the door,
Lord, the house look a like a rummage sale, yes,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no millionaire's son, no, no.
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no.

Yeh, some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
ooh, they send you down to war, Lord,
And when you ask them, how much should we give,
oh, they only answer, more, more, more, yoh,

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no military son, SON, NO
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, NO NO

It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no no no,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate son, son son son

1. John Fogerty performs EVERY song with full vigor
He's one of the relative few who've been performing so long who still go all-out. He could easily hold his own in concert by comparison with the most energetic and capable of today's younger rock/country-rock performers.

The dude's amazing. I love him.

3. I agree
And he resembles another of my old friends.

I wish I could have seen the show with him and Willy. Ticket prices have gotten outrageous though.

Fogerty had no such problems. There aren't many voices in all of popular music as unique as Fogerty's bayou-by-way-of-California twang that sold millions of Creedence Clearwater Revival records, and he and his five-piece band provided more than enough rock to fill up the arena. As Fogerty himself put it after he opened with "Travelin' Band," "What I'm about is just plain old rock and roll. Let's get it."

And that's just what he did. CCR was a hitmaking machine in the late sixties and early seventies, and Fogerty delivered pretty much any song ever heard on a classic rock station today. Bouncing, hopping, strutting and generally exhibiting an energy level more suited to a teenager than his 61-year-old frame, Fogerty ripped through hits like"Green River", "Sweet Hitchiker", and "Lookin' Out My Back Door".

Fogerty even threw in a little exposition for one song, stating that, contrary to popular belief, he did not write "Who'll Stop the Rain" at Woodstock, but at home after CCR's appearance at the festival. And with Fogerty's almost two hours of hits blasting around the amphitheatre, it was almost like the best parts of 1969 all over again.

2. I love him
Have you heard this? I think it speaks about his feelings of the current event.

DEJA VU (ALL OVER AGAIN)

Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio
Did you try to read the writing on the wall
Did that voice inside you say I've heard it all before
It's like Deja Vu all over again

Day by day I hear the voices rising
Started with a whisper like it did before
Day by day we count the dead and dying
Ship the bodies home while the networks all keep score

Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio
Could your eyes believe the writing on the wall
Did that voice inside you say I've heard it all before
It's like Deja Vu all over again

One by one I see the old ghosts rising
Stumblin' 'cross Big Muddy
Where the light gets dim
Day after day another Momma's crying
She's lost her precious child
To a war that has no end

Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio
Did you stop to read the writing at The Wall
Did that voice inside you say
I've seen this all before
It's like Deja Vu all over again
It's like Deja Vu all over again

4. No, I didn't know about that
Thanks for letting me know! Seriously.

From 2004, it's kind of old, but still new.

Thanks a lot. :hi:
