3. No, not a live one. I caught a black sand shark once,

and it was big enough to chomp toes off.

7. i was stationed on a coral atoll in the late 70's

just south of the equater in the middle of the indian ocean...i used to go out snorkling every morning in the lagoon...one bright morning i was about 35 yards out and the bottom sank out of site to reveal the dark abyss of the crater whose rim forms the island...it was cold over the darkness and i felt a little uneasy. i felt as if the darkness would pull me down...i then saw the shark in the distance...gray, white and huge...i swallowed some seawater when i noticed it was swimming in a zig zag motion towards me...i slowly started to swim backwards under the ocean...not too fast...never taking my eyes off the shark...the darkness changed to bright greens and blues...some reds...as i approached the beach...the shark receded and faded...it was not after me...it did not even acknowlage me...i swam until the sand scraped my back...and then i stood up...out of the water...looked around and noticed there was no one else on the beach...the banana palms swayed and the sun shone down...and somewhere in the lagoon the great white swam...

once of the Australian Coast and then again off Diego Garcia
in the Indian Ocean..However I am more impressed with the large hammerheads
