James Blunt 'irritates British public'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/5230636.stm

Singer James Blunt is more irritating than traffic wardens, noisy neighbours and estate agents, according to a poll ranking the UK's most annoying things.

The man behind hits such as You're Beautiful came fourth in the survey of 2,000 people, beaten only by cold callers, caravans and queue-jumpers.

UK'S MOST IRRITATING THINGS
1. Cold callers
2. Caravans
3. Queue-jumpers
4. James Blunt
5. Traffic wardens
6. People who tailgate
7. Brown-nosers
8. Chantelle and Preston from Big Brother
9. Ex-smokers

9. I'm sure I'd recognise some of his "music" given how famous he appears to
be, but I can't claim to know him, or know of him.

The others mostly make sense, but if people don't like cold-callers why don't they join the Telephone Preference Service? I'm on that and the postal version too, it makes my life so much less vexing.

10. You don't listen to Radio 2
I can tell. ;)

But you're right about the telephone preference service. It does seem to work. The only kind of cold callers you get after that are the completely illegal ones.

22. TJW also evidently doesn't listen to Magic FM or Heart FM.
As both of those stations have flogged that song to death as well. Basically if you work in an office which plays middle-of-the-road radio it's a good bet that James Blunt may well be the bane of your life.

Mind you, am I the only one here who seems to find that every record shop I walk into at present is playing Starlight by Muse at the moment? I think it's a great song but I am hearing it a heck of a lot at present. And then there is the matter of how many people seem to have Crazy by Gnarls Barkley as their ringtone.

25. Stick to your Brahms and Mahler, Mason
JB is irritating beyond belief. He's no reason to start a new interest in pop music. ;-)

19. The only song I've heard by him is "No Bravery"
And it's beautiful. I wouldn't have heard it except for two anti-war flash animations that used it.

27. Little girl in coma
I read a story about a little 6-year-old girl coming out of a coma when she heard that song "Beautiful." First off, 6-year-olds aren't beautiful, they're cute. And second, I didn't like the song in the first place, but that sacharine story placed it solidly into the "songs I detest" category.

Not the newest FFF CD though, which is preachy and boring.
