Rave about something, dammit! |
|
So much anger and negativity here sometimes. Let's hear the positive stuff...tell me something good. Can be anything. New job or raise, good phone call, new salad dressing...who cares? Can be real-life or DU-related.
Here, for example:
Today, I bought supplies to re-build a deck. I fit 10 2x12x10' boards into my wagon (hatch open). My little 30 mpg hauler, she is.
Also, I had a good conversation with LeftyMom recently. Something I always enjoy.
And, I just poured myself a beer and I've noticed that I have a thread on the Greatest Page (though it's a bit of a flamefest).
COME ON! Tell us something good, something positive....

In my animation engine, that is. :)
Now, about real life...well, we'll have to work on that.

3. It's a beautiful day today |
|
I'm enjoying my day off while my SO is busily building a shed for our generator to live in and the cat is flopped on the deck watching him.
And I'm not behind on any bills right now. :toast:

...unloaded it all nicely into the shed, where it shall sit until my winter steam shower project begins. :bounce:
Now, I just need to find someone getting rid of a steam shower device... :D

6. check out Freecycle in your area |
|
on Yahoo Groups. maybe that's where you got the tile, but if not it's amazing what folks give away. http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=freecycle&submit=Searchjust look for one in your general area. :hi: aA

I cleaned house a bit, did some laundry and listened to the music I wanted to listen to. I have more energy today than I have had in a while. I'm still sore from surgery and I'm now relaxing so as not to over do it.
House renovations are coming along nicely thanks to a very dedicated and hard working husband/lover/friend. Yes they are all ONE person
:hi:

10. Frederic Fekkai Technician Shampoo and Conditioner |
|
for color-treated hair. My hair tends to be coarse, and this stuff tames it. :D I mean, it actually tames it! After I shampoo, I use the Frederic Fekkai Technician Glaze, which is a de-frizz glaze and heat protectant. I must say, this is the best line I think I've ever used. :woohoo: Got it at Sephora.

11. Thanks! I've never heard of it, but I think I'll have to try it out. |
|
I've been using John Frieda's shampoo and conditioner for redheads, which I really like. But I'm always up for trying something else that's good.

13. It's a little on the expensive side, but you can get travel kits |
|
with small sizes if you want to try it. They make hair products for all kinds of hair (dry, color treated, etc.). :hi: You can look at it here if you want: http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hierarchy.jhtml?categoryId=C7240&brandId=4221&SectionID=C7240 .

8. Well, let's see. My work load has been picking up a bit lately. |
|
Some of you know that my caseload took a major dive, and my income was basically cut in half. Things are starting to pick up some with the number of cases I have (and I have also been blessed with wonderful co-workers who are generous in sending some work my way). So while things aren't back to normal yet income-wise, it's definitely looking better.
One of the better things I can rave about is my mom's health. She's had a number of health challenges over the past 12-13 years, and has been in bad shape more than once. But over the past few months, she's been feeling better, been able to eat more, do more things around the house, tend to her roses and her gardens, and get out and about much more than she was. And one of the best parts is she is pretty much back to her sassy self, which I absolutely love.

We finally got the hookup fixed and a full sized dryer installed.
MaryBear and I stopped to get burritos today. I didn't have to interrogate the guy behind the counter about what's in the food because he not only knew what a vegan is, he is one. He just told me what could be made vegan, sparing me much time with a menu and a magnifying glass.
It's only 85 out.
I smell like dog and BO, but I can go take a nice shower and sit around the house in my underpants (or less) in a minute.
I got hummus at the farmer's market, so I'm making a sandwich once I'm clean.

23. The weather here today was BEE-U-T-FUL! |
|
Blue skies, some puffy clouds, temps started in the 70s and made it to the high 80s, but the humidity was under control, light breeze blowing!
I started the day with a few hours at Dorney Park, the local amusement park, before they got crowed (mainly in the water park), it was back home to copy the pics to the PC, and then off to Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA where I had a lousy corn dog, OK pierogies, and saw The Arrogant Worms (a great Canadian musical comedy group).
Now I'm home, and exhausted! GREAT DAY!
