How close is your grocery store to your home?
We were a mile away from the grocery store in our community but it shut down. Now we are about 40 miles away from groceries. It's a real bitch.

1. Two miles, and there are three stores within three miles.
Forty miles for grocery is a long haul. Yuck.

2. My favorite one is 15 miles away. The secondary one is 2 miles away.
I say "favorite" because food prices haven't gone up with gas prices.

The secondary one recently updated its image to match the new posh store that's 3 miles away... sadly, it updated its prices to match too.

5. "Vons" is 5 blocks away.
But have noticed crappy produce and tainted ground beef (I got food poisoning last week. Shouldnt have cooked the gamey smelling beef),so I'll drive the xtra one mile and shop at "Ralphs" for now on.

28. Their ground beef sucks lately, I don't like the
new packaging. Bought it twice and both times the meat was sort of runny and brown at the bottom. The Ralphs across the street from Vons (both 2 miles away) smells bad and has even worse produce than Vons. I drive two miles farther to go to Albertsons when I'm in the mood. Fresher meat and more selection. Since that strike a while back, all the local markets seem to have somewhat gone downhill.

14. It depends on what time it is.
2 local stores are within 1-2 miles. However, they close early on Saturday and Sunday, so I either have to go to the local Mobil station, or drive 20 miles to Sturgeon Bay to a well-stocked Pick-N-Save.

15. A mile or so...
They really need to put in one closer to Downtown OKC. It's ridiculous that my only choice is a Walmart Neighborhood market more than 30 blocks from here. Well, there is a Homeland like 10 blocks from here, but it's ghetto. I refuse to shop there. They need to put in another Super Target here, and it needs to be near downtown.

there are 4 major ones - Save On Foods(where I shop the most), Safeway, Sobey's and the Real Canadian Superstore (which I avoid like the plague...).

18. The closest one is two very long blocks away, but it's skanky
The other two, which I visit interchangeably, are less than 2 miles away (one south, one west).

25. It is about 3 miles, I think.
It seems like a long three miles though, because I hate going. I'm not sure which I hate worse; coming or going, in that case. It's a Food Lion. It's pretty clean. It's not like the SuperDuper Bigass Wal-Mart (we have the biggest one in the world here, officially). I wouldn't want to buy anything much at the Wal-Mart. EVERYONE else goes there, so the food has been handled by thousands of snotty kids and disgusting freeper types. I'll take Food Lion over that any day.
