60 Minutes has a story about computer game pros going to tournaments. |
|
All men. Or rather boys and male children. No women. I don't see any need for brawn in handling a computer mouse and key board. Any one know why women are doing any of these tournaments?

1. Because they have better things to do? |
|
But I have noticed the marketing for video games is male-oriented. Hence all the scantily-clad, over-endowed women characters. But games marketed for girls, especially, are so stupid no girl I know would ever want to play them. I play video games, just not very seriously. I tend not to finish games, but instead get stuck somewhere in the middle and give up.

2. Computer gaming is a *grossly* male-dominated er..."profession." |
|
(NOTE: I'm in computer game development, yet I'm still reluctant to call the people who play my putative products "professionals.")
It's something the industry has just now started to remedy: making more games that would have a broader appeal to women.

Odd that the feature didn't mention, represent or talk to them... (Or discuss the issue of why females are heavily outnumbered in the field...) http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/3496963.stmhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frag_Dolls
