GM Bringing Back Chevy Camaro (Yeah, THAT will boost GM sales)

GM Reportedly Bringing Back Camaro

DETROIT -- The Chevy Camaro is apparently coming back.

The Detroit Free Press reports General Motors is expected to announce the return of the muscle car as a production vehicle.

The newspaper -- citing sources familiar with the plans -- reports the production version could be built as early as 2008. An official announcement is expected Thursday.

A GM spokesman is declining comment.

GM has won praise for its Camaro concept, which was unveiled in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The 2002 model year was the last for the Camaro, which had started its run with the 1967 model.

4. It's the workers fault that their market share keeps dropping
and they get paid too much. We must cut production and move their jobs. Management makes great decisions; especially the strategic planning folks. They always pick a winner. Yee Haw! :sarcasm:

6. This is a bad thing?
A car that's better-looking and probably much more fun to drive than the stodgy crap made by Toyota and Honda? I don't think GM is going to have much trouble selling these.

9. What about the Pontiac Firebird?
It's the same damn car as the Camaro (except nicer on the inside). They made both cars at the same Canadian factory.

I was so depressed when they stop making the Firebird. I used to drive a 1995 Firebird and now I have a 2000 (black like this one).

It's my Batmobile.

11. Seems logical. The Mustang and Charger seem to be doing well and
not everyone can afford a Vette and the GTO isn't the same.

I don't see it helping GM, though. It's gonna take a lot more than a bitchin' Camaro to do that.
