1. I'm going to have to disagree on that gazpacho defense
C'mon...when it is this hot out (unles you have something against the tomato in general), there is NOTHING better than a bowl fo gazpacho with some fresh avocado and maybe some shrimp.

Peace...

15. I have had chilled melon soup with mint
that was wonderful. But outside of that? I like hot, steaming, full of stuff soups. The chilled melon soup I had was on a hot summer day and it was refreshing. On a cold winters night I dont think I would have cared for it much.

28. Heres One I found online
It has to be very similar. I think the cream was used in place of the yogurt though. Either way it sounds good to me. It was great.

2 large cantaloupes, cut in chunks
1/2 cup orange juice
1 fresh lime, juice of
2 Tbsp fresh mint
1 Tbsp liquid honey
1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
Mint sprigs for garnish

Place half of the cantaloupe in a blender and add orange juice, lime juice, mint and honey; process until smooth. Add remaining cantaloupe; process until smooth.

In a large bowl, combine cantaloupe mixture with yogurt and mix well. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Garnish each serving with a mint sprig.

I hope this helps? Have a good night.

25. Honestly I don't.
Edited on Mon Aug-07-06 09:57 PM by AutumnMist
A friend of mine made it, but I can always get the recipe. Email it to you when I get in contact with him? It was a sweet melon mix (honeydew and cantaloupe) with cream and mint mixed in. Maybe some honey? The measurements I don't have. But I certainly can get them for you. We had it as a dessert soup and it was really nice to finish the dinner off with it. :)

24. Obviously you've never had Cool Raspberry Soup...
1 bag (20 ounce) frozen raspberries, thawed
1 1/4 cups water
1/4 cup white wine, optional
1 cup cran-raspberry juice
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3 whole cloves
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 carton (8 ounce) raspberry-flavored yogurt
1/2 cup sour cream

In a blender, puree raspberries, water, and wine. Transfer to a large saucepan; add the cran-raspberry juice, sugar cinnamon, and cloves. Bring just to boil over medium heat. Remove from the heat; strain and aloww to cool. Whisk in lemon juice and yogurt. Refrigerate. To serve pour into small bowls and top with a dollop of sour cream.

Makes four to six servings.

26. Not if it's chilled peach, or chilled mango, or chilled berry, "soup."
I knew a chef at a cafeteria who prepared one or two of these a week. I don't know why he called them soups, except that maybe there was nothing else to call them. They were infinitely smooth. Of course they were all laden with heavy cream, so they were just a mildly sweet, refreshing, very happy feeling heart attack in a bowl. But I loved them.

Or when I make it.

Otherwise, to hell with it.

Chilled berry "soups," fuck those (no offense, Jon & Sean).

33. Exactly.
Berry soup is merely the result of some asshat deciding to eat their smoothie with a spoon and declaring it soup. Personally, I call that delusional.
