I think I have strep throat

It feels like someone is stabbing me in the throat when I swallow. I called the doc. She can see me today, but not until 4:30. I'm taking x-tra strength acetaminiphine to get through the day.

I don't feel well. I want my mommy.

1. this is going to sound weird,

but how does your breath smell? Strep gives off a definate odor that can knock you off your feet (if you are the person who has to smell it!) I mention it because my daughter had strep all the time. I told the doctor about the smell and he confirmed that it has a definate rancid smell. I got really good at discerning the difference between a regular sore throat and a strep throat...which was important as my daughter entered her teen years and wanted to cut school. ;)

Hope you feel better. Until you see the docotr, some ice pops might help sooth your throat.

6. It's strep

the throat culture isn't back yet, but the doc says she can tell by just looking at it. By suppertime yesterday, I started in with the rest of the symptoms (fever and chills, loss of appetite, etc).

I've had 3 doses of antibiotics now, and I'm taking acetaminiphine for pain, as well as trying to drink a lot of water and sucking on throat lozenges.

I hate being sick, especially when I'm on vacation.

:hug: I hate sore throats. I used to get tonsilitis frequently growing up and into my 20s, but I've only had actual strep three times. I hope the doc can fix you up! :hug:

Gargling with that hurts most germs severely...

8. Sorry!! I had it a few years ago along with the flu!

I haven't forgotten how AWFUL I felt. It brought me to my knees, and I am a tough cookie!! Hope you feel better! :hug:
