Is it wrong to not want to date someone...purely on lack of physical |
|
attraction? A friend tried to set me up with a coworker of theirs and as nice as the person was....there wasn't a physical interest there. Am I bad person?

1. No. If you're not attracted to someone, you're not attracted. |
|
Granted, there may be a whole lot more underneath the surface that's compatible, but physical attraction is at least somewhat important. At least you know up front and have saved yourself and the other person a lot of trouble in the long run. :)

2. No -- there's nothing wrong with that |
|
People you like but whom you're not physically attracted to are called "friends." Seriously -- I know what you mean. It's truly a natural reaction.

3. Not at all... But I, personally, would get to know what's underneath |
|
first. But if that's not for you, it's not for you. :hi:

5. Very nice person...just not attractive to me... |
|
and unfortunately physical attractiveness is somewhat important to me. Shallow...so shallow.

I wouldn't date someone I was not attracted to. How would that person feel if he or she knew that you didn't find him or her attractive but were only dating out of guilt. Seriously, isn't there enough to worry about in this world without dwelling on whether our subjective feelings are right or wrong. They are neither. Our feelings are what they are and that is it.

But you might want to get to know the person a little better before you decide for sure.
FWIW, I wan't physically attracted to harleydad when we met. But we became good friends and then I became VERY attracted to him. We'll be celebrating our 30th anniversary on the 21st and I still think he's the cutest guy on the block. I must've been blind when I first met him.

Physical attraction isn't the most crucial part of sustaining a relationship, but a baseline of chemistry is pretty necessary to start one.

If it's not there, it's not there. No need to feel bad about it.

12. No. That person deserves somebody who finds them attractive |
|
and you deserve a partner who you find as fascinating to look at as to talk to.

13. No. You can be great friends, |
|
but if there's no physical attraction, chances of there being anything more are slim.
I wouldn't date someone I didn't find attractive, andI have ridiculously high standards that go far beyond the physical.

14. No. Ugly people don't deserve love |
|
:D Seriously if you don't have an attraction it's kind of disingenuous to date someone on that basis.
