I sure that this crushes many of her fans. She got married during her first season on the air. I don't think her husband has ever appeared on the show though.

8. the olive garden was the creation of a marketing meeting at the sara lee |
|
corporation in the early 70s.
they were trying to invent a restaurant concept that would cash in on the whole "godfather" movie italian family dining thing.
the movie tested well and so did the concept.
true story.

10. wow, that could be whole 'nother thread |
|
trying to spin a restaurant chain off of a popular movie.
Like "Hannibal's, where the meat you eat may be your own" or something.

11. the 70s were a weird time for american corporations |
|
you'd have companies like AMF that would end up with a dog food division, or quaker oats selling toys.
weird time indeed.

20. Olive Garden was founded |
|
(no doubt at a marketing meeting) in 82 Joe Lee (CEO of GMR, no relation to Sara) and Bill Darden, founders of Red Lobster, when they worked for General Mills Restaurants, Inc a division of General Mills who had bought Red Lobster in the 70's. General Mills sold off the restaurants in 95 to Darden Restaurants, current owners and operators of Red Lobster and Olive Garden.

14. Now look....Rachael Ray actually knows how to cook. I |
|
pay attention, hoping to learn something. :P She cooks things that are healthy and fairly easy to prepare. Yeah, some of her sayings can be annoying, but I just take it as cooking shorthand!
My favorite Food Network chef is Giada, but I like Rachael too. :P

And I like Paula Deen, although her Southern cooking is not exactly what I need to be eating these days. :P

17. I just wish they'd have Giada and Rachael do their shows naked. |
|
I mean, seriously - that's what all the men are watching them for, anyway. Might just as well be honest and upfront about it, and bring in an even larger audience.
Oh, and add Sarah Lee into that mix, as well. Her "cooking" sucks, but if she were naked, I'd be damned sure to watch it anyway.

19. Well, Giada wears those cleavage-enhancing tops all the time, |
|
and Rachael is only slightly less cleavage-oriented. I could handle a naked cooking show, but nobody would learn anything about cooking that way. :P
