At Chez trof tonight: Gyro Burgers! |
|
Trying a new recipe. I'll let you know.
INGREDIENTS:
* pita bread * 1 pound lean ground beef * 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder * 1/2 teaspoon black pepper * 1/4 teaspoon onion powder * 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin * 1/4 teaspoon salt
* For Yogurt Sauce (tzatziki): * 8 ounces plain yogurt * 1/2 cup finely minced cucumber * 2 minced green onions * 2-3 cloves minced garlic * 1/4 teaspoon sugar * 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
PREPARATION: Combine beef, garlic, powder, pepper, onion powder, cumin and salt. Divide into four equal parts and form into patties. Set aside. Preheat grill.
Combine all ingredients for the yogurt sauce. Mix well, cover and refrigerate.
Place patties on grill over high heat and cook for about 2 to 4 minutes per side or until juices run clear and there is no pink in the middle.
When done (& cooled a bit) slice into strips. Serve patties on pita bread with yogurt sauce.

11. Yeah, that was hedges' (read: food snob's) first question |
|
when I read this to him. "They're not using lamb?"
:D
I personally am not a fan of lamb, so ground beef works fine for me.

Miz t. did. I didn't witness it. :-(
Took the entire lid off, clean. No sharp edges and you could put the lid back of for fridge storage. Pretty damn cool.
She promises to let me do the next one. :-)

Miz t. just hollered back here: "I need a can of tomatos opened. Are you up for it?" Yes m'am!
Worked like a charm Put it on the can, push the button, and stand back. It rotates itself around the can and "VIOLA!" Separates the lid. Way cool!
Did I mention that I am easily entertained? ;-)

Have you ever taken a REALLY close look at a claw hammer? AMAZING tool. ;-)

18. I'm partial to needle-nose pliers myself. |

Those suckers come in handy in so many ways - I used a pair this morning to make a minor adjustment to Baby Bunny's orthodontia!

17. Not tofu, but it is fake meat in a tube. |
|
It comes in ground beef and sausage flavors. It's good shit, man.
