5. Ding Ding Ding!!!
At approximately 7:00pm tonight I shook hands with Senator Feingold at a fundraiser he hosted for my candidate for Congress. Other people were talking to him so I didn't get to say anything but he saw me and extended his hand, and I know its silly, but WOW!

7. When John Kerry came to Madison I got close enough to the stage
afterwards so that my hand was in a sea of hands reaching out to touch his hand. And I didn't actually touch his hand but it was still cool to be that close to him. It was less than a week before the election and he had just spoken to 80000 people. I was sure he was our next president.

8. I know, same here.
I wrote a paper in 7th grade about that and it was called "Meeting the Man That May Become President" & all my friends were like "You should change that to 'The Man That Will Become President'!"

Fuck you, Diebold. :( :(

12. Feingold story
When his father immigrated to Wisconsin he only spoke Yiddish, so he flunked kindergarten the first time and had to take it over.

(My candidiate is running against anti-immigrant bigot James Sensenbrenner.)

16. My candidate- Bryan Kennedy- ran in 2004
and is running this year. This time all the big guys like Dean and Reid and Feingold are talking him up. But he's just a regular person, a college professor, and it took a few years of being a candidate before he got their attention. Running for office is incredibly difficult- its amazing that we ever get any decent people to run!
