I'm so fucking mad, now I'll never go to sleep |
|
I just deleted what I was about to write. It was just too vile.
I could spit. I wish I had not turned on the TV just now...why? WHY? Why the hell is this happening again..."breaking news..." "Don't fly if you don't absolutely have to...,." Dammit. Dammit.

I suppose time will tell. This one is more than just simple scare tactics, I'm afraid. They have already cancelled all outbound flights out of Heathrow, according to a post in latest breaking news. What a f'ing mess.

It's probably all part of the master plan by the Bushista's: keep 'em scared. I understand your worry and your anger, but holy hell. If it's on the news, especially if it originates from the States, you can almost bet it's nothing but propaganda.

7. Well, I don't know about this one... |
|
it's disruptive enough, and Scotland Yard is initiating the report, and enough money will be lost. I just wish we could have a little sanity..that's all..just for a little while. Sorry I got so upset. Aren't you glad I deleted my original post?
Thanks for the hug, by the way.:pals:

9. Always have a hug for you, KC! |

And I hope I didn't sound dismissive of your concerns. I would definitely put more stock in Scotland Yard than I would the Bushistas. Hope everything is okay.

They are doing the right thing at the airports now in the U.K. No one is allowed to bring ANY luggage on board. Lufthansa cancelled the flights to London till this afternoon. I do believe they do what they can to keep the people safe.
You are right, it is scary. Fucking scary. And I will fly to the U.S. in 3 weeks. From Germany though. It makes me feel a bit more safe that I know that Germany never was part of that crazy senseless war

I'm fine now. I've settled down and realized it really is our new reality. We will have scares like this from here on out...it's amazing, really, that we don't have them much more frequently.
Also, as I took some deep breaths, I realized the media is doing its usual hype...so, as bad as it may be, the news channels just make it look worse!

Why do they tell us when they stop something like this from happening if not to keep the Terra Level up and thus remind us that we're always this close to whatever we're this close to and we need * to protect us?
Edit: I guess that's so Incredibly Fucking Obvious that I'm embarrassed to have posted it.

15. You've got a valid point |

But, why would they want to cause all this chaos and disrupt their financial sectors? None of it makes much sense, really, if you think about it.

16. I'm probably just polishing my tin-foil hat, but... |

given that * shills for the PNAC and part of the PNAC's goal is economic domination of the Middle East, it's not too much of a jump to conclude that * engages Blair as an accomplice in the "terra, terra, terra" chant to keep the sheeple thinking only a Republican administration can deal with terrists and justify continued U.S. action in the Middle East.
These fuckpoles love theyselfs a good, long war, y'know — especially when there's a pantload of oil beneath the killing fields.

18. I didn't get the whole story, |
|
Did they arrest the guys _at_ the airport as they were preparing to embark, or did they just arrest them at home, before they could start the execution of their plan?

19. Last I heard, the details were still secret. |
|
To protect the ongoing investigation. Although the plan HAD been foiled! Not to worry. Except you can carry very little onto the plane. But the plan was foiled! Gosh, glad there's no way to put explosives in luggage that's been checked in! Since no liquids can be carried on--one newsman suggested you drink it all. That's fine for water--but what about the contact solution?
And Chertoff keeps saying "since 9/ll." As if the reminder of that enormous failure should make Bush & Co look good.

21. This is my perspective on the whole issue |
|
I don’t believe that this in itself is a conspiracy or a bid to boost *’s or Blair’s numbers or whatever –I believe the threat to be real and genuine –but the fact that the right wing politicians and pundits try and use it to play up fear and hysteria and score cheap political points. I can vaguely remember when terrorist attack warnings were issued during the Clinton Administration –you know, the Millennium bombings and the like –and I can remember the professionalism and coolness that the Clinton Administration sought to project in reaction to the potential threat. It sought to reassure, it sought to protect and it sought to implement measures and strategies that would increase long term national security (most of which were blocked by the Republican Congress)
But now whenever one of these things happen, you have everyone in the US government respond superficially. Instead of trying to be professional in their handling of the situation, they seek to play it up and dramatize it and to make people feel as afraid and terrified as they possibly can. They also seek to use it to try and justify Iraq and a whole lot of other dubious causes
And I must say that I’m not surprised that a number of people are suspicious about the terrorist plots being conspiracy theories. The * Administration has consistently tried to alarm and frighten people unnecessarily and score cheap political and propaganda points from people’s fear. Remember Cheney and the alleged connection between Mohammed Atta and Iraq? Remember how the terrorist threat was immediately upgraded after the Democratic National Convention in Boston? This government has consistently lied and misinformed the public about potential terrorist threats so that now we have trouble distinguishing about what is real and what is propaganda. When you cry wolf too many times….
