No not the numbers! How do you spin? Wasn't it right to first number, left past one time second number, right to third number?

scary thing is, I couldn't recite my last combo off the top of my head but I have the feeling that if you put me in front of that old locker my hands and fingers would spin it out correctly withing say 5 tries.
I base that on the fact that I could never conciously recite the nuber even when I was using it but I managed to get it open every morning. ;)

4. That was how I was with our PE lockers. |
|
(We never had actual lockers, just ones for PE).
If you asked me my combo, I couldn't say it. But I opened my locker faster than anyone else.

It had to be that or the other way L-R full spin-L. Kid is having anxiety - School just reinstalled lockers - they were banished for several years (you can put your weed in here?)

man, the loads my kids have carried the last few years! The younger set are pulling packs on wheels like luggage, but it apparently wasn't cool enough for the older kids - they were still lugging huge heave backpacks around.

14. Well, our principal seems to think |
|
we will eliminate backpacks as well. The school has purchased "classroom sets" and "home sets" of each textbook. The students have been instructed to purchase a large binder (Trapper-Keeper type) to keep their work in.
We shall see.

German instead. My youngest son...he is an odd one. Not sure now if they will be having regular lockers or not...
This kid who barely speaks to anyone in English has decided to take German.

20. well, if he takes German ... |
|
... he will be able to grunt in an ambiguous Teutonic way, and expand his range of expression nonetheless!
In John LeCarre's latest novel (Absolute Friends) there is a teenager who decides to study German for that very reason -- doesn't like talking with his English classmates very much.

That's more than 30 years ago. You always remember your first.

I thought it was freaky that I could remember my HS locker combo 23-38-9 but it was like 5 years ago...30 years is a long time to remember a number like that :)

23. I do. First stick your ear close to the back of the lock. |
|
Then, turn it all the way clockwise until you hear a faint click. Then turn it around once counterclockwise until you hear another click. Then turn it back around less than once clockwise until you hear the last click. Oh...you meant just the clockwise/counterclockwise thing, didn't you? You weren't asking how to open one without the combination, were you? Oops. I didn't do it.
