OMG. No more bringing the hotel freebie stuff home.
All the neat little shampoos, soaps, conditioners, lotions.
How are we going to stock the guest bathroom now?

Damn!
This thing has far-reaching consequences.

1. I still have bars of soap from Italy and I was there almost 4 years ago.

I don't know why I feel compelled to take it. I only use my own products, but I feel like grabbing all that stuff. Even the disposable shower caps. I don't wear shower caps.

4. I was an airline pilot.
I don't think we bought soap or shampoo for about 30 years.

5. You'll actually have to use the hotel stuff,
because you won't be able to bring your own (unless you put it in your checked bag). If this silly rule continues (and I think it probably won't), the hotels will probably start providing little tubes of toothpaste, deodorant, etc., in addition to the shampoo and hand lotion. In fact, I expect some entrepeneur to open kiosks at airports outside the secured area, maybe by baggage claim, where they sell this stuff to arriving passengers.

13. checked luggage equals lost luggage in my experience
there's nothing wrong w. taking a wild gamble if you like but i wouldn't plan on those checked bags making it home, esp. if they've got anything valuable in them

14. I've never had a lost bag.
I've had them temporarily misplaced once or twice, but never a loss or a theft. My parents travel all the time, never a lost or stolen bag.

Ever think you might have your own personal black cloud?

18. I've had my luggage go to Vegas without me, but never really lost.
My stepdad flies at least once a week and he's never had anything permanently lost, just misplaced. The only black could I think she has though is the one over her attitude.

19. I used to volunteer at an aids food bank
and a major hotel (not sure which one) used to send boxes of the little soaps, lotions, shampoos, shaving kits, etc. to distribute to the clients. They love getting them!

25. you can't check your camera
it's aga. the terms and conditions, check your airline's website, if you check your camera...and it's stolen...they are not liable because you violated their terms

same for any electronic or jewelry item

i don't see how a reasonable person can fly to/from uk w.out spending a LOT more $$$ in risk than is reasonable

if these restrictions spread, they will kill a LOT of tourist and business travel, no business person can risk checking a laptop full of confidential data, and most tourists (me too!) would not be willing to give up the camera, why go if the hobby can't be pursued?
