Perseid meteor shower reminder: |
|
Just a reminder that the Perseid meteor shower will gear up in the early morning hours of Saturday and Sunday this weekend (keep your eyes peeled in the wee hours for Mercury and Venus). Unfortunately the moon phase; a Waning Gibbous (being just a few days past full) will interfere with optimum viewing. However, 15-30 per hour should certainly be visible.
Good luck, happy sky watching!

2. Thanks for the info, Earth First. |
|
I sure hope the marine layer stays away long enough to allow for viewing.
What time is the meteor shower? I'm in the Pacific Daylight Time zone.
Thanks.

3. How'd folks make out last night? |
|
Tonight will be the optimum night for viewing according to what I've read. We saw about a dozen or so last night sitting outdoors for about an hour. Such a beautiful event to witness, I hope that you had a chance to get outdoors and witness them for yourselves.
Good day to all!

4. It's been cloudy and rainy here since yesterday, |
|
and the same is predicted for Sunday, so I know I will miss the show.
