Good Saturday Morning, Crew!

Well, it looks like Clintmax is still away. But we'll do everything we can to keep the crew together. :grouphug:

How is everyone today? It's raining here. Not a storm, just gentle rain. We have discovered the uselessness of Sylvester's dog house. That "drip edge" seems to drip the water right into the house. His blanket was totally soaked this morning. That'll make him want to use it, right? x( Time to go back to Petsmart and get a refund, I say.

Rise and shine! I hope you have some good plans for the weekend. And I hope you have better weather than we're getting! :bounce: :grouphug:

1. Hi AirmensMom!
It's gorgeous here. Sunny and 68. Got my sprinklers going and a cup of coffee. Trying to finish a report up from yesterday.

I hope you have a wonderful day.

They'll be starting our house soon, so it's exciting. I'm going shopping for bathroom stuff with the builder on Monday. :bounce:

Thanks for the welcome! You are, of course, welcome here, too ... but you don't want to come in this weather. :P

8. How cool! Putting it all together is the fun part.
The market's dead where we are at. We get about 1 or 2 showings a week (which is better than nothing), and we've gone out and looked at a few.. but nothing as great as the first house we saw that got us going. Oh well... patience I suppose. :D

We could use a little bit of rain. I hate using water just to keep the grass green so people will stop and look at our house. I've got landscaping for the first time in years! ;)

10. It's very cool.
I don't know if you remember how bummed I was that we got dumped by four builders before we found this one. But I cannot imagine working with the others! This is a brother/sister team and the sister, D, and I have SO much in common! It's fun to go over every detail and get suggestions from her. It just wouldn't have happened this way with the ones who dumped us. Sometimes it really does work out in the end! :bounce:

From what I hear, the market's dead in a lot of places. Our realtor has us believing that we sold the last house in South FL. It's a double-edged sword when you're wanting to buy and sell at the same time. You'll find something, I'm sure. Patience is not my strong suit, so I can certainly sympathize.

Oh, you're that much in need of rain? We have it so spare! The lawn looks like it hasn't been mowed in a month after just a week.

16. Good morning, mutley!
:hi: Just got back from taking my shower, getting wet again by going outside, and fixing breakfast.

And I found out what's up with the doghouse. The gutter is overflowing and splashing water all over the covered area where I had the doghouse. Harleydad will have to climb up and take a look. It even got the floor REALLY wet when I opened the door for a minute. Now I have it in another spot. We'll see how that goes. Oh, and I had moved it, but just from one side of the door to the other. Lot of good that did. x(

Anyway, if you thought yesterday was Saturday, you're in for a long weekend! :bounce: :woohoo:

20. Good morning AirmensMom
What a pleasant surprise to see you! And you can send some of that rain my way. I think I'm going to have to water the garden.

Good grief. Yesterday was supposed to be a nice day off of work, and I ended up staying until 1:00 p.m. Suspect my boss knows how perturbed I was, b/c it was all b/c of him. Now I've got even more comp time and don't know when I can use it.

Sad to hear about the kitty house. Yes, I do believe Sylvester would be most appreciative if you get something that stays dry.

21. Good morning, SF!
:hi: :loveya:

I was beginning to think everyone was on vacation except me. It's good to see you, too! :bounce:

You can have the rain! We were supposed to have the lawn mowed today. The guy started last night, but quit because it was getting dark. He was coming back at 8:00AM ... but it's like a swamp out there. Now I know why they don't have to use lawn irrigation around here. :silly:

You stayed till 1:00??!!!! :wow: What the hell is wrong with some of these bosses? :banghead: I could suggest a trip to TN to use up some of that time. :D

When we get the new house built, there will be plenty of dry porches to put Sylvester's house. I might even fix up a little room in the garage for him and his buddies that we don't have yet. :loveya: I think he's asleep under a bush right now.

22. Oh don't worry hon
I'm still checking those airfares!

Yes, my boss has been very distracted these past few months, and I've been taking over a lot of his stuff, which I truly don't mind, but some things that I don't know about seems to slip through the cracks until it's too late. But now I know why, b/c he has given his notice. He's being a little evasive as to where he's going which seems odd to me. I really like him though, other than the past several months, he's about the best boss that I've ever had.

That all said, I'm strongly contemplating putting in for his job. I certainly can do it, and it would be a nice raise, which is another incentive. I chatted with HR yesterday about it, and he said, that really I've got nothing to loose. If I don't get the job, I'm still here.

Ah your kitty is snoozing under a tree? Mine is outside too, but she's always on a harness. The stupid yappy dogs next door are in their house, and I wish that they'd stay there.

You have a good boss? :wow: And you want his job? Will it be more stress? I hope you get it! :bounce: :woohoo:

We have some very thick bushes outside and it stays dry underneath them. He doesn't really like going there b/c it's out front and the food bowl appears on the back deck. Our indoor kitties would be on a harness or in the kitty walk if they were outside. They're all asleep on a dry chair somewhere in the house.

Do the stupid yappy dogs bother your kitty?

27. Well, I think it
would be less stress than what I'm under now. The Prez and other directors have started cc-ing me on their e-mails to him, b/c they don't get any response, work done, but this way I'm aware of projects that are out there. But other than chatting with my boss about them and he telling me he's doing them, franky, I feel that's all I can do. It's his responsibility. But sometimes in the end, I just end up doing it anyway b/c other directors need the info. It's really an awkward position to be in right now.

The yappy dogs? My cat just ignores them, she's very nonchalant, very aloof toward them. Which I'm glad about, b/c she does like to spend some time outside, and as long as the weather's good, I let her enjoy that little bit of adventure.

35. Oh, then that's a good thing.
 Too bad your boss has you in an awkward position, though.

I used to have a boss who didn't want to be a boss. Oh, he wanted the pay and recognition, but he didn't want any employees. So payroll was always calling me to hunt down his time sheets. I got to the point that I just did them myself ... and then he put on my review that I "lacked initiative." :wtf: Your boss doesn't sound lke that, though. :D

Sylvester chases the yappy dogs away. No kidding! Our neighbor has a little terrior of some kind and he told me that Sylvester has treed the dog several time. I didn't believe him until the dog came into our driveway and I saw Sylvester in action. I think the other kitties would be afraid of the dogs. We used to have a Golden Retriever, but he was just like part of the furniture to them. It's different with outdoor dogs.

40. Thank gawd
the yappy dogs are leashed, b/c the minute they see my kitty they run toward her. I wish they'd choke themselves. I know that's mean, but they just don't quit barking. The other neighbor has a big German shepard which they don't leash. But she's very well behaved, never leaves her yard. Barely glances at my kitty when she's out.

Yes, cats, no matter what their size can be quite intimating toward dogs. It's that survival instinct. Also their extreme curtness also serves them well.

Right now I'm doing and should really start in on my other domestic chores.

I've got some chicken breasts marinating right now, and plan to grill them latter, yummy.

There's a german shepherd in our neighbor's yard, too, and he never leaves. He's also very well behaved. But the other dogs around here ... :banghead:

Then my sister's college roommate and her husband are suppose to be driving in from Rhode Island to meet us.

34. well..
cleaning and more cleaning. A contractor is coming over this morning to estimate the cost of drywalling 1/2 the house (entire main floor) we'll see how he does. In this economy you'd think that people would be anxious for work. (i'm not talking about working for nothing). We have had a heck of a time even getting contractors to keep appointments to come and do estimates. One contractor disappeared for 2 weeks without a trace and wondered why we fired him.

I don't envy you one bit. We had trouble getting someone to come and fix our screen after hurricane Wilma. Not like they needed work or anything. My dentist finally recommended someone and he actually showed up, gave us a good price, and did the repairs. Never would have found him in the yellow pages.

I hope you get a good price and someone who comes back to do the work.

Edit: You ain't listening too well to * ... the economy is good, dontcha know.
