you knick someone's car while parking your own.
Do you leave a note with your name and number, or do you make sure no one is around before driving away?

7. Leave a note that says . . . |
|
. . . "I'm writing this note because people are standing around and staring at me with indignation because I hit your nice car. They think I am leaving my name, address and phone number. But I am not. Good luck."

I did that once to a brand new car at a club. I left a note for the owner and went on my way. An hour or so later, I returned and retrieved the note. I knew they had full coverage and insurance companies piss me off anyway.
Naughty, I know. ;)

If I just bumped another car, and smudged the paint...nope. If i cracked something, yes, I would leave a note...

10. I assume I am getting ready to go inside the store. |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-13-06 04:31 AM by Jamastiene
I would never leave my name and phone number in a public place. I'd either wait or go inside the store and ask the manager to page the owner by asking over the PA system if the owner of such and such car would please see the manager. I'm not the type to destroy other people's property (or damage it) and not own up to it. I would not want that done to me.

Is it a Hummer, a hooptie or someone's brand-spanking-new Prius?
If its a Hummer, to heck with 'em. If it's a hooptie, I doubt anyone would notice a little knick with all the other little frights going on: No harm; no foul. If it's a brand-spanking-new Prius, then yes, I'd step up.

14. honestly, I leave a note w/ my name and number |
|
True story though...
years back, when I was VERY pregnant, I went to a retaurant to eat and there were very few parking spaces. Some nitwit had taken up 2 spaces (right up front) with their car... you know, parked slantways across two spaces to that no one would park next to them and possibly nick their car. I parked clear across the parking lot, but left a note on their windshield that said I was sorry I had dinged their car, but if they had parked properly it probably wouldn't have happened. Of course, I hadn't dinged their car, but you can bet they spent some time looking for it--probably a lot more time than it would have taken for them to park in the back of the lot and walk to the restaurant.
