Prehistoric animal appreciation thread!


Scale depiction of a Miocene teratorn from South America, Argentavis magnificens. Wingspan: 25 feet.


Short-Faced Bear, Arctodus simus. Pleistocene North America. Stood 5 to 5.5 feet at the shoulder on all fours, 10 feet high when rearing up on its hind legs.

10. I'm going to nitpick a little here...
I know you just classed sabertooths in under dinosaurs to save time, but I've met folks who would get snippy with you for that.
