So I'm having Italian beer for the first time in my life

I just never thought of Italy as a beer making place, though obviously there's no reason it shouldn't be. I've had beer from all over the world, from Australia to Alaska to obscure Asian countries and South Pacific Islands and Mexico and Canada a great many states in this country, but I never, ever stopped to think, "What about an Italian beer?"

Just. Not. On. My. Radar.

So I saw some at the store today - Peroni - and bought a six pack. It's a nice beer. It's very Italian: very light, not a lot of body, gentle, undemanding, not complex in taste. But it's damned tasty!

3. As an Italian, I don;t think we make very good beer

But my taste runs toward the dark beers that you have to cut with a butter knife... Though I have ever seen a brand in the US other than Peroni; there must be other, better beers in Italia itself.
