Zit remover?
Hey, this has probably been done before, but I missed it.

I don't have terrible acne or anything, but I do get lots of zits on my face. I was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion for an OTC product that works well?

Just about anything will be good if it does something (isoproply alcohol doesn't work well).

1. Pro Activ
is good stuff. You get a starter kit with cleanser, toner, and the acne med, and a moisterizer...

I got it this past winter and it does help, though I got a really itchy rash from the acne med part at first. I was using too much, now I just dab it on the break outs and don't use it like another all-over face moisterizer. This is common, I've learned.

But, yeah it works like a charm.

5. Yes, it's OTC. Here
http://www.proactiv.com/

I actually bought it from a stall at my local mall.

8. If you order it
just don't get sucked into the "club" until you're sure it works for you and you like it. :-)

2. If you have a benzoyl peroxide sensitivity, you might want to
see a dermatologist. Mine prescribed an EXCELLENT topical lotion (PM me if you want the details) a few years ago that I wish I'd had as a teenager! It's a relative newcomer to the market, and it's amazing. I don't have adult acne problems like I used to, which is a blessing, but it was a miracle when I needed it. :)

4. As far as I know, I'm not allergic/sensitive to any chemicals.
Now pollen and cashews is a different story.

7. my daughters tried the ProActiv stuff but prefer
good old fashioned witchhazel. none of the over drying. you can get it at the drugstore --- we get a nice rose petal variation at a local co-op.

9. I like witchhazel but it wasn't enough
for me.

I also use plain glycerin soap on my nonProactiv days that I make myself .

10. I just use toothpaste as a spot treatment
and splash vinegar on my face a couple times a month. Apple cidar vinegar works wonders for acne too-just splash on (be careful of eyes-also spot test and possibly dilute if needed). Speaking of vinegar: white vinegar works wonders for build up on hair.
