Whats the World's tallest building??

The CN Tower-The Canada National Tower, is the tallest building in the
world. It measures 553 meters (1,815 feet). Here's a great picture of
it

There is very little floor space, just an observation deck, so its not a building, but a HUGE television tower, making it the world's tallest structure, but not building. Right now I think the tallest BUILDING in the world is Taipei One, assuming they completed it yet.

I thought there was an oil platform out in some ocean that was taller....

7. Ocean structures usually don't count...
Mainly because, regardless of how they look, they still float, and are technically portable. I'm sure many oil platforms have drilling structures that go well past 1815 feet down to the ocean floor. However, they aren't freestanding, and they aren't on land.
