My dog passed her Canine Good Citizen test tonite!
She was amazing!! She did everything perfectly! And afterwards we had our regular obedience class, and we ran a rally course. She came in a close second to a dog who has rally titles!

And they say beagles aren't smart!

Critters' Vegan Beagle, CGC
I like it!

5. I'm actually considering it
We have some work to do before we get there. I've got to train her to focus on me when other handlers have bait around her. I don't use bait, because she doesn't want to do anything but nose around in my pockets for the goodies. She works well on praise. But if other handlers have bait, she wants to nose around in THEIR pockets. So, we still have some work to do. BUt I think it may be doable.

7. Congrats! My beagle was smart enough to know that she did not
like the feel of grass on her paws and therefore never once went potty outside on her own. :D :hi:

Way to go!

10. This is a thread that needs pictures!
I love Beagles and no one would want to say they're not smart around me! :grr: There is no one as fiendishly clever about mooching food (or stealing it) as a Beagle.

Beagle story - I was baking bread one day and had flour all over the table when the phone rang. I went in the other room to answer it and when I came back, I found my Beagle sitting innocently on the floor with an angelic expression on her face, as if to say, "I wasn't up to no good!"

However, said Beagle had flour all over her ears and lips and there were small paw prints all over the table. It was quite funny.

13. My beagle (childhood pet) ate my breakfast one day!
We all left the table for some reason and came back to find him happily sitting in my chair and polishing off a plate of bacon and eggs and toast! :)
