List rarely-played album tracks that are better than the "hit single" |
|
For one example, I have nothing against the Stones' "Brown Sugar," but for my money, "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" along with "Wild Horses," "Bitch" and "Moonlight Mile" are far more interesting and listenable. David Bowie's "Changes" gets all the airplay, but the next 4 or 5 songs that follow it on "Hunky Dory" are far more interesting. Cat Stevens' "Wild World" is the one you always hear on the radio, yet the album is full of other, better songs. Other examples?

Pensacola St.Theresa Lumina Ladder Man in the Long Black Coat Crazy Baby one of the most solid albums I've ever heard, wrecked by that idiotic "One of us" song. snippets here if you scroll down. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000001ED1/002-7327077-7000838?v=glance&n=5174

Single- "been caught stealing" is ok, but "3 Days" is the real power track on that album and some of Stephen Perkins most amazing drumming......

Anything on any album, other than the recognized "hits" such as Purple Haze and Hey Joe. It's disappointing not to hear a better selection of Hendrix songs on the Classic Rock stations.
