They're crappy pictures. All I've got right now is the cell phone camera and it's not exactly state-of-the-art. The rainbow was a perfect one...a double, actually but the second one doesn't show up. And the second picture is two baby mourning doves whose mama built her nest in one of my blue spruce trees.
Both the rainbow and the mourning doves are gone now though, rainbows being the fleeting things that they are and the baby birds flew a few days ago.
But they were both nice while they lasted and brightened my week a bit.

I really want to get a better camera but, of course, once I get a better camera, rainbow season will have passed. The baby birds have already left their nest, but they made me feel good while they were here. Silly as it sounds, I enjoyed going out there every morning and watching them grow, day by day. I like to think that they got used to it, too. The nest was right at eye level and, a few days before they flew, I found popcorn in the tree, only a few inches from the nest and when I reached in to get it out and they didn't get at all alarmed, just watched.
Heh...and that was my scintillating summer. Yours has been much more exciting, you got to travel and meet people.
