Looking for a 80's recording of an obscure song "Get High On Yourself"
While watching 'The Kid Stays in The Picture' the other day I heard this song. Robert Evans produced the single in the early 80's. It was a anti-drug song that had stars such as Scot Baio & Herve Vilachez belting out their musical talents. The song is God awful, but pretty popular from what I hear. I was only 2 or 3 when it came out but am looking for either a 45 record of it or a cd. Tried, Amazon, ebay,Google, you name it, I've tried it. Only clip I hear is in the documentary.Anyway, the song is for a joke & would LOVE to find it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

1. I remember the song.
And I remember the television special where it was 1st played.

I believe I recall Paul Numan, Ted Nugent & (chuckle)a young Whitney Houston being involved as well...

Perhaps someone has the show or some clips on You Tube?

3. tried it
I swear, I have exhausted all avenues of approach. Man, there was even a special? WOW! I'd love a bootleg of that to add to my Paul Lynde Halloween special & my Star Wars Holiday special!

5. Hmm- Try researching Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No" campaign...
...b/c I'm pretty darn sure this song & TV show were sponsored by that effort...

The Star Wars Special is burned into my brain pretty well too- even after almost 30 years since I saw it...

2. Oh- BTW- the song was not all that popular, if at all.
It was played a few times on television, but I was 10 years old at the time and a HUGE radio buff- I never heard it on the radio even once.

It is funny that you bring up that song- it pops into my head from time to time.
