I get along better with males than I do females and it has been this way pratically my whole life. Yet I can't keep a boyfriend ... why is that ?

4. Sad thing is that I still like my ex-boyfriend. |

I am stuck on stupid and I am so much smarter than that. We are still friends but I am starting to want to run away. But if he were to do me like that,I would scream bloody mercy that he was a bastard. People around us predict that we will both be married by next year - but both of us say no that something like that would never happen because we are never getting back together. Its something about him that I just can't shake off my mind and I am up at 3 am crying about it. I tell him to leave me alone when he comes around - but on the inside I like him around. He dumped me and I feel that if I let him get any inch close to me that he won't realize what good that he had in me . He told me that he misses the things that we did but I told him - I don't trust you. I don't trust myself with him because I know that I deserve better. I think he finally realized what a good person he had in me - someone who gave him everything. I say that I don't want him back but if he were in my room right now, I would be on his lap in his arms cuddling. It would'nt be me making the first move - its always him. And I don't give in everytime. Everytime we end up alone together, we always end up on the couch with me in his lap with him just holding me - but to other people we both swear that we don't have feelings for each other. In May, he went with me to Kmart and we sat in the furniture section on a chair with me in his arms for about 20 minutes - I fell alseep in his arms... why can't guys be upfront with how they feel? Why be so macho all the time?

my best guess is fear, but of what I'm not sure. I don't suffer from that particular affliction, thankfully. But like you, I've been the victim of it in the past. I know all too well exactly what you're describing regarding your feelings; I was almost 30 before I found the right one. I sympathize. Know you're not alone.

My best friend has the exact same problem, but in her case I suspect it's because she's an orphan raised without any male role models whatsoever. Great friend, horrible judge of boyfriend material.

I've always had more male friends than female.
No idea on the boyfriend thing though. I was married a long time & not looking for a boyfriend just yet.

and I'm a guy! I also can't keep a girlfriend.
One time a co-worker asked me about why I hang out with so many women, I responded by saying, who would you rather hang with, a bunch of guys who fart, or a bunch of attractive women? He shut up after that. Of course, I will say I relate better with women, I'm a talker, I guess that makes sense.
