"Do As I Say (Not As I Do) Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy" |
|
Has anyone read this book which was written by Peter Schweizer. I am considering reading it, but not because I think he is saying anything reasonable. I just want to know what he actually said in the book. Also, I want to do some research and see if he told the truth, or if he pulled an Ann Coulter and made up half the book. Remember in the case of "Slander" it was later revealed, after the book had recieved rave reviews from the mainstream press, that she made up half the book by misquoting people, making up quotes, and making up sources.
So, has anyone read this book? Does the author really say anything worth while? In addition, is there any democratic writer coming out with a book to counter what has been said by Schweizer?

I haven't done it with this book. But the usual hit piece books are too obvious for you not to have heard it all before. They don't pull out any new info. or provide history lessons. They just act as reverb for freeper types. Books like this are just designed to regurgitate their cognipoo.

2. My Bill Press Moment With Peter Schweizer |
|
Yes, I am replying to my own post and maybe I will be the only reply, but I really wanted to make this reply. Bill Press once said that when he first got a show on the radio as a liberal voice he decided he would listen to Rush Limbaugh's show everyday and talk about Limbaugh's BS. Press said that it took him only a few seconds of listening to Limbaugh's show to realize that all he would have to do was listen to Libmbaugh's show a few minutes a day and he(Press) would have all the BS he needed from Limbaugh's show.
I feel the same way about Peter Schweizer after reading the first two sentences of the cover profile of his book. In the first two line there are the sentences: "Members of the liberal left exude an air of moral certitude. They pride themselves on being selflessly committed to the highest ideals and seem praticularly confident of the purity of their motives and the evil nature of their opponents." Now I do not know about other members of DU, but those two sentences sound like Republicans ideal and actions not Democratic ones.

Although I've notice "hypocrisy" has become a favorite word of freepers. They throw it around all the time without having any understanding of what it means.
"Oh so you like President Clinton but you don't like President Bush. YOU ARE A HIPPOCRET!!1! SERIES!"
and my recent favorite...
"Oh you don't like racism but you don't like Condalisa Rice?! YOU OUR A HUGH HIPOCRIT!!!
